Chick: Miller Lite
TheDick: Tonewood Fuego
Ten wings for $14.00.
The Old Rail Tavern located in Barrington NJ is one of the best local hangouts to get some truly great wings.
The bar itself is relatively small and can become crowded quickly. But, there is a nice patio outside with plenty of additional seating. This provides a perfect venue during the summer and fall. Off-site parking is avaible along the adjaect rail line (Yes, the bar is right next to train tracks). It is definetly a local hangout for young profesionals and locals alike.
While we only scored thier “hot” wings, we tried four different sauces – The Hot, Hot & Honey, Garlic Hot, and Honey Garlic Hot. Each of us said our flavor was the best. The Old Rail scored highest on wing size, texture and doneness. All the varieties were cooked very well–with different sauces added at the end. The Hot could have used a little more heat and a little less pepper, which is a prevalent aftertaste with this selection. However, the group said these are some of the best wings that we have had.
