Jay’s Elbow Room is one of those fabled places that have been around forever! A small hole-in-the-wall with a definite dive bar feel. But, also a place to have great conversation with a stranger at the bar while downing wings and a beer. When the Chick and TheDick reviewed this local hangout, the owners were behind the bar ready to serve up some great food as well as recomendations on their favorite wing places (after Jay’s obviously) and where to try next!
With a whole crew in tow, we tried nearly all the wings on the menu, however, we only rate Jay’s version of the traditional buffalo wing. The wings were very good with taste, doneness and texture rating at the top. Heat level could be amped up a little and the presentation was lacking–but probably on-par for the venue. Blue cheese, ranch and celery were included in the price. Value for money puts Jay’s at one of the best South Jersey wing joints–with 5 for $5 happy-hour special! One of the best values around.
Would we go back….YES! The traditioanl hot wings were great, but we would go back for the Garlic Parm which were amazing.
